Build Statistics

Funds for Facts, Dollars for Data

by Steve Adams

Any way you put it, the facts and figures supplied by crew leaders for the ramps they build help bring in the money needed to pay for the materials, hardware, tools and facilities volunteers around the state use to serve their communities. In the words of Kay Champagne, who has been instrumental in securing funding from around Texas, “Good build statistics are critical to securing grants and gifts. We use the latest figures in every funding request. This is why prompt, accurate reporting of all build information is essential to successful fundraising.”

Data supplied from around the state also provides the basis for favorable publicity, such as the recent announcement of our 1,000th ramp, and the planned announcement that we have built over five miles of ramp in the last four years.

The information we gather is always available for use in local fundraising as well. Steve Adams, to whom the data is sent, helps regional projects with facts and figures statewide and for individual regions. He can also help with tables or graphs of data to show volunteers, funding sources and other audiences the good work being done at local and state levels.
