BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Through the Be Remarkable campaign, Daniel Stark Injury
Lawyers and KBTX are highlighting individuals making a meaningful impact across the Brazos Valley.
This week’s honoree, Roy Harrington, has spent the last 15 years helping build wheelchair ramps for residents who otherwise couldn’t afford them. Working with the Texas Ramp Project, Harrington coordinates volunteers, materials, and build sites—often completing ramps in just a few hours. But the impact lasts far longer.
“Many of our clients are essentially trapped in their homes,” Harrington said. “Being able to get in and out easily can completely change their lives.”

The organization builds ramps for individuals referred through medical providers and social service agencies, with a current backlog of several months due to demand.
In the Brazos Valley alone, the group has constructed more than 1,200 ramps, including over 100 just last year.

Harrington, a retired industrial engineer for Texas Instruments, says his passion for service started years ago through mission work and continues today through the ramp builds.
His dedication earned him this week’s Be Remarkable honor, along with a $500 donation from Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers, funds he plans to reinvest into the project.

For Harrington, the work is simple. “It’s very rewarding for us,” he said, “but even more rewarding for the people we’re helping.”
