Sunday, March 29th was Vietnam Veterans Day and Dr. Katie Simpson and her team of volunteers honored a USMC Vietnam veteran by constructing a new wheelchair ramp at his home.

Dr. Simpson and the team of Texas Ramp Project volunteers were truly blessed on Sunday to be able to build a pretty 40-foot ramp for an 81 years young USMC Vietnam veteran. Semper Fi!.

He was thrilled to share a handshake with each of us as we thanked him for his service. Dr. Simpson presented him with a 50th Anniversary VN Pin when we did the survey the week before and it made us both a little misty.

It took our ace team of 13 just 3.50 hours to complete the ramp. Several challenges, including the fact that the house is a rental property, did not allow us to anchor into the house and the slope needed was complicated by the yard sloping down as well.

As always, incredible seamless teamwork and comradery on the team. Ramp #38 done, onto #39.
