Many groups of volunteers gathered today for the United Way Day of Caring for many different worthy projects in the Amarillo area. The Texas Ramp Project has been involved with the Day of Caring for many years but this year was a special year.

Texas Ramp Project Region Coordinator Henry Wyckoff and his 7 team build leaders developed a careful plan to build 14 ramps in one day, with each Team scheduled to build a ramp in both the morning and afternoon, with the wonderful volunteers from numerous businesses in the Amarillo-Canyon area.

This year the United Way Chief Executive Officer wanted to feature the Texas Ramp Project and asked “how many ramps can you build in one day?” Henry responded “14…I will fund the materials and provide lunch and the volunteers. We pulled it off. 14 ramps in one day”.

Our heart-felt thank you to all the businesses and volunteers that helped us improve the lives and freedom of our neighbors in Amarillo and our very special thank you and congratulations to Henry Wyckoff and his team!
